Rediscover the Art of the Tale
Storytelling is a universal human pastime. Stories bring us together, invite us into a world of meaning, and help us work out our deepest human concerns. Tales of the Round Table is a return to a traditional folk-story experience through the medium of a physical game.
The players take on the roles of Arthur, Guinevere, Merlin, and the Faerie queen as they attempt to solve the problems facing the infant realm of Camelot before it's too late.
Everything hinges on moments of intense roleplaying, painful choices, and desperate bids in a climactic short-story experience that culminates either in beautiful redemption, heartbreaking tragedy, or anything in between—the choice is not yours; it's something you discover through play.
As a Folkstory Experience:
Draw on the rich history of the Arthurian legend as you develop a fresh vision of the tale unique to your playgroup.
Never experience the same game twice. Words are magic: the story shifts and turns depending not just on what you say but how you say it.
Navigate the twisted garden of the human heart: love and glory, courage and virtue, deceit and resentment will all play their parts in the rise (or fall) of the new Camelot.
As a Roleplaying Game:
Simple and clean: learn to play in five minutes and complete a whole arc in one hour.
Go deeper: play the longer, Three-Act version for a more developed narrative.
No Game Master: players take turns trying to accomplish their goals while the other players provide the opposition and challenges.
